American Chemical Society

Improving all people’s lives through the transforming power of chemistry

Project Overview

The American Chemical Society (ACS) partnered with Artisan to create Chemistry in Practice: Reduce the Spread of Viruses.

You remember the days when we were learning the ins and outs of masks, hand washing, and social distancing. ACS wanted to share a free resource with the world based in science. We worked with leading experts in the fields of infectious disease, medicinal chemistry, and healthcare to help people know what to do to protect themselves and others.

ACS does stringent accessibility testing on its courses. They challenged us to create highly engaging and interactive content. We embraced the challenge. In this course, you’ll find complex interactions that can be navigated with a keyboard and a screen reader, gamification elements, and more.

Chemistry We All Understand

It was important to create a course backed in science that everyone could understand and apply.

Science made simple

We worked with several experts in infectious disease to break down the science in ways we all could understand.

Day-in-the-life scenarios

Putting learners in real-life scenarios makes the content relevant and applicable.

Stringent WCAG requirements

We worked closely with ACS accessibility experts to ensure the course would reach the largest audience possible.
